Face Girl’s High School Opens Today!

Japanese manga characters will check the features of your face with an original face check engine. This can check to see if your face is “Popular”, “Flirtyness”, or “Easy to fall-in-love” and so on. (Dec 5, 2008)

Today, Spicebox inc., a high-profile interactive agency in Japan, has developed and released their “face check engine” that can recognize and identify various facial features from real photographs. Spicebox is also launching a Japanese pop-cultural website called “Face Girl’s High School” as a beta version to demonstrate the new face check technology.

‘Face Check Engine’ can digitally visualize various attractive features of the face

This face check engine digitalizes the attractive features of your face like “Popularity”, “Flirtyness”, and “Easy to fall-in-love”. Over thirty check-points will be looked at to describe and analyze your charm.

The engine has been taught which faces are attractive or not by using the professional knowledge. With this, it’s able to recognize various features of the face and digitalize them.

Japanese pop-cultural website “Face Girl’s High School” has been launched!

All face-checking services are free because “Face Girl’s High School” (http://en.fjo.jp/) is a technical demonstration of the new face check engine. When you use the service, you can see comments on your face from Japanese manga-looking characters. This website is built on top of CakePHP and the face check engine is using Intel OpenCV library.

About the English version

The original Japanese version of this service was started in April 2008. The Japanese version became quite popular, so we decided to release international versions. This English version is the first edition of that series.

When the original version was released, it immediately received a lot of attention in several magazines. “Seventeen”, “Nicola” and many other magazines that are young students read featured the service. Even the very popular TV show “King’s Brunch” on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting Corporation) also introduced our service as an attractive service.

We are looking forward to people from all over the world using our service.
